“Places we recommend tend to
project the personality of the people
behind the business, and, here, because of Oralee, the Golden eagle is
exceptional.”- Karen Brown’s Guides [http://www.karenbrown.com/ma/detail.lasso?RecID=14451]

“If you find yourself traveling
the Pennsylvania Turnpike,
schedule a
stop in historic Bedford (Exit 11). And if you're fortunate, you may be
able to stay over nite at the quaint Golden Eagle Inn in the center of
town. . . . Even if you can't manage an overnight stay, do stop
in for
a delectable lunch, dinner, or Sunday brunch. The eclectic American
food is far more creative and imaginative than you'd expect in a small
town.”- The - Grumpy Gourmet [http://www.grumpygourmet.net/OraleesGoldenEagleInn.htm]

“We stumbled upon this gem while looking for a
good restaurant and
place to meet about halfway between Baltimore and Pittsburgh PA... For
those of you familiar with this area, you know that that's a somewhat
desolate stretch of highway (70 and 76). . . . the gem we found was the
Golden Eagle Inn... It appears a beautiful place to stay (we didn't,
but would if we weren't just two hours away), and has a GREAT
restaurant - Get this - 4 people, brunch (and not just frozen waffles),
$34!!!!! Where can you get a real brunch for less than $10 a person
anymore, particularly in a beautiful old house with first rate service
and old-world ambiance? I had a breakfast burrito, and my dining
companions had pancakes (first rate - fluffy, buttery), and eggs
hollandaise. . . Honestly, we were blown away, and we have paid a lot
more than that for less impressive food in a less impressive setting.”

“What a fantastic place! When we sat down,
they gave us a complimentary
plateful of assorted homemade breads -- cranberry, banana, chocolate,
etc. to nibble on. The service was extremely attentive and patient. The
owner came to check on us a couple of times to make sure everything was
ok. The Inn is historic and beautifully remodeled, and our Golden Eagle
Salmon Hollandaise was as good as the one we got a few months ago at
Nemacolin. Terrific food, fine ambience and service. We spent a
delightful afternoon there. I only wish they'd move closer to
Pittsburgh!” - Tripadvisor
